The Day

Both the ceremony and reception will be held on the 22nd of May 2010 at Gants Mill and Garden near Bruton in east Somerset, BA10 0DB.

Please arrive by 2.30pm for a prompt 3:00pm ceremony.

We hope to be celebrating outdoors in the gardens – so fingers crossed for good weather!

The dress code is informal: suits for the men, and dresses for the ladies. All hats welcome!

Canapés will be served during the afternoon followed by the wedding meal at approximately 6:00pm.

The bar will close and the music will finish at roughly 11:00pm. A coach will be available to transport guests staying in Frome at 11.30pm. Drop off points will be the Premier Inn and The George Hotel / Sun Inn. For more information on accommodation in the area please see the accomodation section, and when you RSVP please let us know if you would like a seat on the coach. Vehicles can be left overnight at the venue but should be collected by noon on Sunday.

Gift list

Please do not feel obliged to buy us a present - we are more than happy to have you share our day and many of you will have travelled long distances, for which we are grateful. However, if you do wish to buy a gift, a list will be held at John Lewis (list available from mid-March, no.394108).

Children

Children are welcome on the day but the venue has requested that we ask the following of parents:

"Please can parents ensure that children are supervised at all times as there are uneven and slippery surfaces, and water (rivers, ponds and streams). In the flower garden there are valuable plants and sculptures so children must be closely supervised here. Please also ensure that no pebbles or stones are thrown into the stream and pond in the flower garden."

We kindly request that children are not present at the ceremony or the speeches and we are looking into babysitting services for the day. Details will be posted here nearer the time.

The aftermath

We are planning to have lunch at a nearby pub on Sunday, and would be pleased to catch up with guests. We will decide which pub to visit nearer the date of the wedding.
